Customer Support FAQ
Campus Integration & Support
Welcome to HET Support. We engineered this curriculum to be plug-and-play, but we know technology can sometimes throw a curveball. Find immediate answers below, or reach out to our team directly.
1. How do I distribute the interactive journals to my students?
Our digital files are designed for flexible, direct-to-student distribution across any device environment. You can share the Student Journal PDF directly with your students using your campus's preferred cloud or file-sharing method:
- Google Drive & Chromebooks: Share the file via Google Drive. Students can open and edit it using the Kami browser extension (which auto-syncs) or the Google Drive Acrobat integration.
- Microsoft OneNote: Embed the PDF as an attachment within a OneNote page. Students double-click to open, complete their work, and save it directly back to their cloud binder.
- Tablets & iPads: Share the file via a secure cloud link. Students can drag and drop or import the PDF directly into note-taking apps like GoodNotes or Notability to use as a dynamic digital notebook.
- Desktop & Offline: Provide the file for local download so students can utilize Adobe Acrobat's native form-fill and drawing tools.
2. My students can’t type into the digital journals. How do we fix this?
Our digital journals feature built-in interactive text fields. If students cannot type in them, it is usually because of how the file was opened or which version was distributed:
- The Quick Fix: Ensure students have fully downloaded the PDF and opened it in a supported application (Adobe Acrobat, Kami, or a modern browser like Chrome/Edge) rather than just clicking to "preview" the file.
- Google Drive Users: Ensure students right-click the file and select "Open with Adobe Acrobat" or use the Kami extension, rather than just previewing it in the Drive window.
- Check Your File Version: Ensure you distributed the Online/Desktop or Online/One-Page editions. The Tablet Edition has all interactive text fields intentionally removed to support natural stylus handwriting.
3. Do students need a stylus or Apple Pencil to use this curriculum?
No. The curriculum is incredibly flexible. Students on computers or Chromebooks can easily type their answers directly into the interactive text boxes. However, if your school uses iPads or tablets, the files fully support natural handwriting with a stylus or Apple Pencil for an immersive, mindful experience.
4. Can I edit the lesson plans, rubrics, or reading materials?
To guarantee strict medical accuracy and copyright protection, the core text of the lesson plans and student readings are locked PDFs and cannot be edited. However, we know teachers need flexibility! Your Teaching Guide includes editable templates for rubrics, syllabus pages, and administrative Sex Ed Opt-Out forms so you can tailor the administrative side to your classroom’s specific needs.
5. I am moving to a new school next year. Can I take HET with me?
This depends on your licensing tier:
Individual Teacher License: Yes! This license belongs to you personally. You may take it to your new classroom.
School Site License: No. Site licenses belong to the purchasing school building. If you leave, your access will be transferred to your replacement. Note: If your new district needs the curriculum, we would love to connect with your new principal to get your campus equipped!
6. How do I access the latest medically accurate updates?
Health standards change, and we’ve got you covered.
Site License Holders: Your updates are pushed automatically. Simply log into your HET Enterprise Portal to download the latest, compliance-ready files.
Individual License Holders: You have lifetime access to the base curriculum files you purchased. Simply log into your account to redownload the latest updated versions for free.
